Both bring about lively discussions and shop talks. Whether soccer fans are discussing the trainer’s strategy or operation managers are looking for ways to optimize a process plant, they are pursuing the same goal. Experts exchange opinions and learn from experiences of others.
And after the event, the discussion partners may even find an opportunity to raise their glasses to success and laugh with each other. People who are complete strangers get to know each other, talk and discuss with each other.
This cannot only be experienced at public soccer viewing events but also at the technical expert forums held by GEA Tuchenhagen GmbH.
On 7 and 8 July, our GEA Tuchenhagen Innovation Center hosted a technical forum
“Cleaning of Process Plants – Cost or Benefit?”.
We would like to take this opportunity to express, once more, our thanks to all speakers for their informative and interesting lectures! The participants – an international mix – came from the USA and Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland, from Belgium and Israel, from France, England and, of course, from Germany.
The forum lasted 2 days. Mr Thiessen, Head of Sales and Marketing of GEA Tuchenhagen GmbH, sounded the bell at 9:00 hrs and opened the event. During the lunch break, interested guests were invited to take a tour round GEA Tuchenhagen's valve production facilities. For many of the guests this was an impressing experience.
At the end of the first day, the participants came together at a BBQ at the Waldhalle restaurant in Mölln to continue their technical discussions, make new contacts or simply to relax. Even the soccer fans among them were not forgotten. They joined in the excitement when they gathered round the public TV screen later.
And although the German team unfortunately lost their match, which put an end to soccer viewing, everybody met again at the forum the next morning. A comprehensive range of topics relating to the cleaning of process plants, from cleaning validation for an entire plant to the cleaning behaviour of a single o-ring, were examined and discussed. Although market conditions and regulations are different in the individual countries, all participants shared the same goal: cleaner but still efficient product processing and ultimately a satisfied and “healthy” customer.
As Joe Stout, who worked for Kraft Foods for 29 years and who still supports many US companies as a consultant, put it in a nutshell in his presentation:
Pump it up to Excellence!
We, too, are aiming for this goal and will continue our series of events in October and link up with the topic of the last forum. Under the theme “Everything safe? HACCP, EHEDG, 3A and GMP - only together an effective approach to food safety” we would like to invite all interested specialists to Büchen. For more information visit our Internet site under Service & Training or directly at
tuchenhagen.training@geagroup.com.
A big thank you again to all speakers, participants and all those who helped to make this forum a success!
Perhaps we’ll meet again at one of our next events. I’m looking forward to seeing you.
