Dr. Michael Bauer to become CFO at GEA Mechanical Equipment

Financial responsibility in the newly created segment of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft

Starting 1 January 2010, Dr. Michael Bauer will assume responsibility as CFO in the newly created segment GEA Mechanical Equipment. He will thus bear commercial responsibility for the business units Flow Components (GEA Tuchenhagen, Büchen, Germany), Homogenizers (GEA Niro Soavi, Parma, Italy) and Mechanical Separation (GEA Westfalia Separator, Oelde, Germany).

As Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Bauer wishes to bring his know how and experience to finance and organization in order to have a positive impact on the sales and results of the new segment.

As a result of his studies at the university in Witten/Herdecke and in the USA, his doctorate at the university in Eichstätt combined with practical experience in various management positions of the GEA Group, Dr. Bauer has the necessary background for ensuring that the new segment GEA Mechanical Equipment will be kept on course for success even in difficult times.

Dr. Michael Bauer is 42 years old, married and has two daughters.
