VARIVENT® Actuators have an internal pneumatic system. Air is led via the piston rod under the piston surface area. External air supply from the control module to the actuator is not necessary. The actuator may be used for both single seat and double seat valves. The actuator concept allows for changing the non-actuated positionof the valve from spring-to-close to spring-to-open and vice-versa by simply reversing the actuator (exception DN 125, DN 150 and 6" IPS).

On ECOVENT® Actuators the actuating function may be realised on choice either by an internal pneumatic system or by supplying control air to the actuator via an external air hose.

The same as for the VARIVENT® Actuator, type Z, this actuator also allows for a pressurisation of the spring chamber for increasing the closing force. VARIVENT® Actuators type Z generally have the same function as standard VARIVENT® actuators. VARIVENT® actuators type Z are ideal for applications where compressed air is to be supplied to the actuator spring chamber in order to increase the closing force. This function can be implemented by means of the NOT element in the T.VIS®.
